4th Grade Musical Tuesday & Thursday

We are excited to announce the 2026 Fourth Grade Musical will be “Summer Camp” directed by Mendota Teachers Ms. Landmark and Mr. Hayes.

All fourth graders will be in the choir that sings during the “Summer Camp” musical. If students are interested in acting in “Summer Camp,” they need to join the Fourth Drama Club offered through the PTA After School Enrichment Program. Registration for Drama Club will take place the week of December 15th. 

Save the Dates: The Fourth Grade Drama club will meet from 2:15-3:15 p.m. (TU/TH) on the following dates:

Mon - March 2 - Drama Club - Tentative, 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Tues - March 3 - Dress rehearsal - Drama Club only - 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Wed - March 4 - Dress rehearsal - Whole grade level - 2:15-3:30 p.m.

Thur - March 5 12:30 p.m.  - Show #1

Fri - March 6 - 12:30 p.m. - Show #2 (virtual option)

Fri - March 6 - 6:00 p.m. - Show #3  

Fri - March 6 - 7:00 p.m. - Post musical celebration for fourth graders

The Fourth Grade Musical is a capstone project for the Mendota  Creative Arts program. Thank you to Ms Landmark and Mr. Hayes for directing the musical. Thank you to the classroom teachers and the Mendota PTA for supporting the musical. It is going to be AWESOME!

3D Pen - Tuesday

A 3D pen is a fun and useful tool for “drawing” three-dimensional objects! 3D pens are similar to hot glue guns but, instead of glue sticks, 3D pens melt plastic filament allowing students to use their imagination and creativity to create in three dimensions. Taught by Mendota staff, Mr. Vitiritti.

Come have fun with Sasha from Gleason’s Gymnastics and other Gleason Instructors. Mendota’s gym is transformed into a mini Gleason’s Gymnasium!

Bitsbox Coding - Monday

Students will use their school iPads for a hands-on coding class. We will use Bitsbox to learn to code interactive games and apps that keep everyone engaged. We will start slow and by the end of session students should be able to code on their own using the online website and materials brought home each week!

Board Games - Tuesday

Do you like to play games? Come join Ms. Thul and Ms. Rimmele for an afternoon of games and fun!  Practice games such as: Candyland, Sorry, Mancala, Chutes and Ladders, Connect Four and on!  Taught by Mendota teachers, Ms. Flies & Ms. Struzyk.

Books and Illustrators! - Tuesday

Each week, we'll read and study a favorite book. Then kids will use directed drawing, visualizing and more to illustrate a part of the story. Taught by Mendota Teacher, Ms. Hockett

Dungeons & Dragons - Tuesday

Kids will learn collaboration, problem solving, and storytelling, in the safe to “fail” environment of their imaginations while playing the most popular role playing strategy game in the world. Here they will create characters and be put in environments in which they will need to solve problems, avoid obstacles, and defeat enemies while working toward a common goal. Taught by former Mendota student, Kari Bruestle.
